# Migration guide

## Before 1.0

Serialized schemas may change between minor versions. Every change must include a changelog entry and an explicit migration example. Manifests include both `schema_version` and `library_version`.

## Diagnostic compatibility

A diagnostic code is never reused for a different meaning. New structured parameters may be added during 0.x releases; existing parameters are not removed within a minor release.

## 1.0 policy

After 1.0, the project follows Semantic Versioning for Python APIs, Rust APIs, serialized ContextItem records, and PackManifest fields.
